DocSupra · Integrity Scanner
What does this file expose?
Author, software, dates, location, hidden text and attachments. Read on your device, before you send it.
See what a PDF or photo reveals about you before you send it.
The short answer. Drop the file into the Integrity Scanner. It lists the private data the file carries: author and owner names, the program and the dates, a GPS location or a camera serial number in a photo, the original file name and folder path, a preview that still shows a cropped area, text that is still there under a black box, hidden layers and attachments. For a photo, you can download a copy without the location, device and author data.
A file says more than its page. The name of the computer account that made it, the folder it lived in, the place a photo was taken and the words someone drew a rectangle over are all in the file, and they travel with every copy. The scanner reads them out in plain words so that you decide what leaves your hands.
What it finds
The author name recorded in a PDF, and the owner or author recorded in a photo by the camera or the program that saved it.
The camera, phone, office suite or PDF engine that produced the file and the one that last saved it, with the created and modified dates to the minute.
GPS coordinates and camera or phone serial numbers in a photo.
The original file name and the folder path, which often contain a client name or a case number.
A rectangle drawn over text does not remove the text. The scanner reports text that is still inside the file under a covering shape, and text that was deleted but is still stored in an earlier version.
Previews that still show a cropped area, hidden layers and attached files.
How to check a file
Open the Integrity Scanner
Go to docsupra.com/?abre=scanner.
Drop the file
A PDF, JPEG or PNG up to 40 MB, or a folder or ZIP. It is read on your device.
Read what it exposes
The privacy section of the report lists each item with the technical fact behind it. Source and time are shown on the card for everyone.
Act on it
For a photo, download the copy without location, device and author data. For a PDF, remove the items in the program that made the file, or use the redacted copy for a form with personal identifiers.
What it does not do
The scanner reports; it does not rewrite PDFs. The only files it writes are a copy of a photo without its private metadata, the version before the edits that was already inside a PDF, and a redacted image-only copy of a form. It does not decide whether a document is genuine and it is not legal advice.
What the Integrity Scanner costs
From one lease to a whole department: pay once for a few checks, or subscribe.
Document downloads are not part of this subscription: repairing and exporting documents is the Compliance Studio. Prices are in USD and exclude any tax that applies in your country; Stripe calculates it and shows it before you pay.

How do I see the metadata of a PDF?
Drop the PDF into the Integrity Scanner. It shows the program that made the file and the one that last saved it, the created and modified dates, author and owner names, the original file name and path, and anything hidden in the file such as attachments, layers or text under a covering shape.
Does drawing a black box over text remove it?
Not by itself. A shape drawn over text hides it on the page but the text usually stays in the file and can be copied out. The scanner reports text that is still present under a covering shape.
Can it remove the metadata?
For a photo, yes: it downloads a copy without the location, device and author data. It does not rewrite PDFs; for a PDF it tells you what is there so that you can remove it in the program that made the file.
Is the file uploaded?
No. The file is read on your own device, inside the browser. There is no upload endpoint, no server copy and no retention period; you can disconnect from the internet and it keeps working.
What does it cost?
Where the file came from and whether it is safe to open are shown to everyone. Whether it was edited, how, and what it exposes comes with a check: 3 checks with the $9.99 pack, 50 with the $19.99 pass, or up to 1,000 files a month with the $14.99 subscription. It is included with Professional Team and Corporate Studio.
