Document integrity, file by file

Was it edited, by what and when? One file or hundreds, read on your own machines.

Document integrity software: know whether a file was edited before you rely on it.

The short answer. The Integrity Scanner reads what a PDF or photo says about its own history: whether it was saved again after it was first written or signed, with which software and when, the lines that changed, the private data it exposes and whether it carries anything that runs. It works on one file or on a folder of hundreds, on your own machines, and writes a report with the SHA-256 of each file. Nothing is uploaded.

Every organisation that receives documents relies on files it did not create: statements, pay stubs, certificates, contracts, invoices. Reviewing each one by eye does not scale and does not see what matters, because an edit is invisible on the page and plain in the file.

What it tells you about each file

Edited?

Yes, likely or no sign, with the reason: later revisions of a PDF and the lines they changed, signatures that no longer cover the file, design software in a photo’s history, pasted or cloned areas.

Source and time

The camera, phone or program that made the file, when it was created and when it was last saved.

What it exposes

Location, names, serial numbers, hidden text and, for a PDF with text, the personal identifiers in it.

Safe to open?

Scripts, actions that run on opening, executable attachments and hidden payloads. Shown to everyone.

Hundreds at once

A folder or ZIP fills a list of compact cards with a count of edited, to review, exposes data and not safe, and one-click filters.

The same answer, every time

Before it reads your first file the engine checks itself with three files whose answers are known; the same file gives the same verdict in Chrome and Firefox.

How a team uses it

  1. Open the Integrity Scanner

Go to docsupra.com/?abre=scanner, or install it as an app.

  2. Drop the files

One file, a folder or a ZIP of JPEG, PNG and PDF, up to 40 MB each.

  3. Filter and read

Put the highest risk first, keep only the edited files, and open any card for the full report.

  4. Export the report

A PDF report per batch with the SHA-256, the level and the technical facts for each file.

What it is not

It is not authenticity verification and it is not a fraud verdict: it states technical facts about a file and leaves the judgement to the person who has to trust it. A file with no signal is not proven genuine. It is not antivirus software and it is not legal advice.

Questions

What is document integrity software?

Software that tells you whether a file is still what it was when it was first saved or signed. DocSupra’s Integrity Scanner reads the revisions inside a PDF, the signatures, the metadata and the pixels of a photo, and reports what changed, when and with what.

Can it check hundreds of documents at once?

Yes. Drop a folder or a ZIP: each file gets a compact card, a bar counts the edited, to-review, exposing and unsafe files, and filters keep only the ones you need. Teams can also read the same integrity signal per file on the Enterprise Compliance Studio desk.

Does it prove a document is fake?

No. It reports technical facts: a later save, a different program, lines that changed, a pasted area. Whether that matters is a judgement for the person who has to trust the file.

Are the files uploaded?

No. The file is read on your own device, inside the browser. There is no upload endpoint, no server copy and no retention period; you can disconnect from the internet and it keeps working.

What does it cost?

Where the file came from and whether it is safe to open are shown to everyone. Whether it was edited, how, and what it exposes comes with a check: 3 checks with the $9.99 pack, 50 with the $19.99 pass, or up to 1,000 files a month with the $14.99 subscription. It is included with Professional Team and Corporate Studio.
