Document software for healthcare
Patient forms and records prepared where they already are. A HIPAA mode, a form checker, a log that proves itself.
Document software for healthcare teams: patient documents that never leave your machines.
The short answer. Front desks and records teams photograph and scan patient documents all day: IDs, insurance cards, authorization forms, referrals. DocSupra prepares them on the workstation that already holds them, checks an authorization form for the required elements of 45 CFR 164.508(c), lists the personal identifiers in a document’s text and can make a redacted copy. Its HIPAA mode makes the log mandatory and pseudonymous. No patient document is uploaded to DocSupra.
Most document software for clinics starts by sending the document to a vendor’s server. Every vendor that receives protected health information is one more party in your risk analysis. DocSupra processes each file in the browser on your own machine; what the licence service holds is seats, counts and, if you record batches, hashes and verdicts.
What a healthcare team uses it for
Insurance cards and IDs kept exactly as shot, in colour; forms and referrals straightened and cleaned; each exported at the size and format the receiving system asks for.
The required elements of a HIPAA authorization, each marked present with the line that shows it, or missing. Also the acknowledgement of the Notice of Privacy Practices.
Names in labelled fields, dates of birth, medical record numbers, health plan IDs, NPIs, diagnosis codes, phone numbers and addresses in a PDF’s text, masked, with the page and line.
An image-only PDF with the identifier lines blacked out and no text layer, to send instead of the original.
Recording each batch is mandatory before the export is released; records carry pseudonyms instead of file names; records are kept for the retention window you set; an unattended desk clears itself after 15 minutes.
Who audited what and when, chained by hash and verifiable at any time, with policy changes recorded in the same chain.
How a team works with it
Turn on HIPAA mode
An administrator sets the compliance mode in the team console. Every desk in the organisation follows it.
Prepare the documents
In the Enterprise Compliance Studio, drop the batch and pick the destination; or use the Compliance Studio for one document at a time.
Check the forms
Open a form in the Integrity Scanner, choose the form type in the Compliance tab and read which elements are present or missing.
Record and export
The batch is recorded to the log under pseudonyms, and the ZIP is delivered with its certificate.
What it is not
HIPAA mode is a set of rules the software enforces; it does not make an organisation compliant by itself, and DocSupra does not offer a certification. The form check is a checklist, not a legal review, and it reads PDFs that have a text layer, not scanned images. DocSupra does not certify that an organisation complies with any law, does not decide whether a document is genuine and does not give legal, tax or financial advice. Presets marked as a starting point have not been verified against a specific portal: confirm the current limits with the receiving body.
What it costs a team
Both plans include the same software. Corporate Studio adds people, a named support contact and invoice billing.
Prices are in USD and exclude any tax that applies in your country; Stripe calculates it and shows it before you pay. Only the monthly plans renew, and they cancel in one click from the Stripe receipt.

Does DocSupra receive protected health information?
No document is uploaded: every file is processed in the browser on your own machine and there is no upload endpoint. What the service holds is licences and seats and, if your team records batches, pseudonyms, hashes, sizes and verdicts.
What does HIPAA mode change?
Recording a batch becomes mandatory before the export is released, records carry pseudonyms instead of file names, records are kept for the retention window set in the policy, and a desk left alone clears itself after 15 minutes. An evidence PDF summarises the policy in force and the state of the log.
Can it check a HIPAA authorization form?
Yes. For a PDF with text, the Integrity Scanner marks each required element of 45 CFR 164.508(c) as present, with the line that shows it, or missing. It is a checklist, not a legal review.
Does using DocSupra make us HIPAA compliant?
No. Compliance is your organisation’s responsibility. DocSupra gives your programme a written policy that the software enforces and a log that cannot be edited without breaking its chain; it does not sell a certification.
Which plans include it?
It is part of both team plans: Professional Team ($149 per month, up to 3 people) and Corporate Studio ($349 per month, 10 people included and $29 per extra seat, up to 500 people).
